London Java Meetup summary

The meetup was good last night and in addition to the usual suspects, a whole load of ThoughtWonkers turned up which was good - it's always nice to see some new faces, even if most of them left after a while to go the the Extreme Tuesday Club!

Chatting was typically free and flowing (like the beer, thankfully not Red Stripe), but I still remain unconvinced as to exactly why I need to use a lot of these new open source projects such as Groovy. Sure they're cool, but do I need them in my day to day work at the moment? More research needed I think.

Oh and it's true, Martin Fowler does have a big one, but then Steve's is quite large too. ;-)
