Twitter RSS feed for Simon Brown [Twitter] simonbrown: wondering whether Adobe's commercial approach to Flex Builder will limit adoption of Flex ... which will be a shame, because I quite like it

Coding the Architecture RSS feed for Simon Brown [Coding the Architecture] As mentioned before, we were speakers at, and community sponsors of the Software Architect 2008 conference (3rd-5th June 2008, London). i18n in action

No, not a Manning book, but an example of the new Pebble i18n features in action. I've set up a multi-blog Pebble instance with a blog for each of the supported locales. You have to give credit to the ability that Java has to generate localized dates, times, numbers and calendar symbols. That, and the effort that people put in to translate the resource bundles. It's all pretty cool. :-)

You can find the test blog here and I'll leave it running until 1.8 is released. Take a look and see what you think.

Re: i18n in action

So, when the version 1.8 will be released? I'm eager to see it. Thanks.

Re: i18n in action

Hopefully this weekend - I'm just coordinating a few final changes to some of the translations.

Re: i18n in action

I am sorry to say that the search function does not work correctly at

http://www.simongbrown.com/testblog/zhCN/

The query words become mess '????' after press the 'search' button and there are no search results. I noticed the translation of 'Sorry, no results.' has a spell mistake in chinese charactor in the result page.

Do i make myself clear?

Re: i18n in action

I've just changed the form method from GET to POST - can you try a search again now? GETs don't work on my server because I've not setup Tomcat to handle UTF-8 URLs properly.

Re: i18n in action

Hi Simon, Thanks for your hardwork. But the search function still does not work correctly when I search in Chinese. They still '????'.

Re: i18n in action

On the testblog? If I copy some Chinese text and paste it into the search box, the search works for me. I'm using Safari on Mac OS X.

Re: i18n in action

Yes, on the testblog. I'm using Maxthon(IE core) on WinXP SP2. I don't know whether other Chinese readers have this problem.

Re: i18n in action

It also works for me in Traditional Chinese i18n testblog :-D I'm using Firefox 1.03 on Windows XP w/SP2.
