Restoring user directory and applications
Now that I've spent some time with a clean Tiger install, here's the list of things I've had to do to restore my apps and user directory.
- Copy ~/Documents, ~/Music and ~/Pictures
- Copy ~/sandbox (Java development area)
- Install NetNewsWire 2.0
- Copy NetNewsWire config from ~/Library/Application Support/NetNewsWire and ~/Library/Preferences/com.ranchero.NetNewsWire.plist
- Install MarsEdit 1.0
- Install Photoshop Elements 2.0
- Install iLife 04
- Install Microsoft Office 2004
- Install Tiger developer tools s/w (including BSD SDK, Java tools + docs)
- Install IntelliJ IDEA
- Install StuffIt Expander
- Install SmartCVS
- Copy ~/.smartcvs
- Install Yahoo! Messenger
- Copy AddressBook from ~/Library/Application Support
- Copy ~/.ssh
I think that's pretty much it so far - next time I do a fresh install, I'll know what I need to do. :-)
