Get a Mac

Cute, but won't sell Macs

Apple have just released some new Mac ads to showcase the advantages of running a Mac over running a PC. No doubt they're funny, but I'd say that they were Cute, but won't sell Macs. The ads do answer the key questions that everybody asks, but in my experience people are scared of learning a new OS, preferring to stick to the virus-ridden, insecure OS that they're used to.

The only way to change people's minds in this instance is to let them test drive a Mac. My dad was very much in the majority who used Windows because that's what they're used to. However, after just one week with an old G3 iBook (including iLife 04 and an iSight) and he's now the proud owner of a 15 inch MacBook Pro, creating tracks in GarageBand and video conferencing in fullscreen with his 2 year old grandson. Switching from a PC to a Mac is like buying a car - you want to try it out first.
