Interested in software architecture?
Come along to the first Coding the Architecture user group
Interested in software architecture? Based in London? With just a week to go, here are the details of the first Coding the Architecture London User Group.
- Title : The Implications of Architecting a Tactical Solution
- Summary : The topic for this, the first Coding the Architecture London User Group meeting, is tactical solutions. We've all come across tactical solutions, but what exactly are they and how do you go about architecting them?
In this session, Simon Brown will present his experiences of architecting tactical solutions, including a look at how to take advantage of the fact that such solutions typically require a fast delivery and have a limited lifespan. Simon will also be talking about what happens when you get it wrong. - Date : Tuesday, 4th September 2007
- Time : 18:30-20:00
- Location : Skills Matter, 1 Sekforde Street
- Format : Presentation followed by a breakout for discussion, with further discussion in a local pub (The Crown).
I've started this event to provide a way for aspiring architects to find out more about the role and to build a wider software architecture community in London. If you're interested in architecture, you're welcome, regardless of whether you're currently in an architecture role. Just sign-up on the Skills Matter website.
Re: Interested in software architecture?
Hello Simon, I'd have come if I lived in London, but since I'm a "Yank" I have to settle for internet conferences these days (damn US dollar).
Meanwhile, speaking of user groups, there would seem to be a growing number of Pebble enthusiasts in the mailing list these days who would like to see some sort of Pebble forum and/or User Group (PUG?). Does such a thing exist already? If not, what would it take to get a domain name together to host something like this?
Of course, we would want to use Pebble for the online forum, but to do this, we would probably want a new feature or two: like a self-registration feature for contributor role (see the mailing list for more details).
Thanks and keep up the good work!
David McLure
