Mobile broadband with T-Mobile

Absolutely fantastic!

For one reason or another, I keep finding myself without an Internet connection when it would be really useful to have one. For example, some of the short technical consulting engagements I've done recently have seen me sitting within customer offices, but I can't put my laptop onto their network. I've seen 3 advertising their mobile broadband quite heavily at the moment, but I eventually signed up with T-Mobile's mobile broadband service. It's a 2 year contract, but for £15 per month you get the following :

  • HSDPA/3G mobile broadband.
  • A 3GB data limit (under fair use rather than a hard limit).
  • A free USB modem (compatible with PC and Mac).
  • Free access to all of T-Mobile's wifi hotspots in the UK (e.g. Starbucks).

I've been using this since the weekend, particularly on the train during my commute to/from work and it's absolutely fantastic. The connection is fast, the modem works without any hassle and the inclusion of wifi is just the icing on the cake. If you're interested in getting mobile broadband, take a look at T-Mobile.
